On November 30, 2019, Professor Jurgen Kretschmann, President of THGA University of Applied Sciences, and Diana Elizabeth Lezcano Zapata, a research assistant, visited the School of Civil and Resource Engineering, where they had academic and cooperative exchanges with the teachers and students concerned. The two sides reached some consensus and preliminary intention, which will be further implemented after the meeting.
Prof. Jurgen Kretschmann also gave an excellent academic presentation entitled Post-mining: A Holistic Approach, which was of great interest to the participants and provided an exchange of views on current situations, trends, and needs such as post-mining land use, ecological protection, and economic transformation.
Some graduate and undergraduate students from the Mine Safety, Health and Environmental Risk Management and Systems Modeling, Simulation and Visualization team were also present to hear from Professor Jurgen Kretschmann.
