Date:2019-09-20

On the afternoon of September 18, 2019, the exchange meeting between Chinese and Australian mining students was held in conference room 5, Tiangong Building. More than 40 teachers and students from The University of Science and Technology Beijing, the University of New South Wales and Shandong University of Science and Technology attended the event.

Firstly, professor Yuye Tan welcomed the students and teachers of UNSW and played a promotional video of USTB to show the students and teachers of USTB's achievements in development, teaching level, faculty and technological innovation. After that, professor Chengguo Zhang from the University of New South Wales introduced the basic situation of the UNSW, and welcomed the teachers and students of USTB to visit the University of New South Wales.

Then, five mining students from The University of Science and Technology Beijing including Enyi Yu, made a report entitled "Mining Industry in China", which introduced the status quo and development of China's mining industry from five aspects: distribution of China's mineral resources, current mining technology, representative mines, foreign mining investment and future development trend of China's mining industry. Two student representatives from UNSW also introduced their student life, campus environment and internship experience at UNSW.

Afterwards, all the students held a Workshop group discussion and report around "Intelligent Mine". The atmosphere of discussion and exchange was very active, and the friendship between Chinese and Australian students also grew rapidly.

The Sino-Australian Mining Students Exchange meeting not only broadens the international vision of mining students and stimulates their enthusiasm for professional learning, but also builds a good platform for long-term in-depth exchange and cooperation between the mining disciplines of USTB and UNSW.
