Biography/ Background

Associate professor Ming Jian has more than 10 years’ experience in academic research, teaching and administration and in consulting to industry. His research interests include roadway support; underground mining methods; digital mine; blasting engineering and rock mechanics.

Recent work has focused on the stability monitoring and analysis of roadways; for caving mining methods; for mine internet of things; for geostatistical modelling and prediction in mineral resource; and for the characterization of rock masses.

He chaired and participated in more than 20 scientific research projects.

He has published over 30 papers and parts of books in the fields of the roadway support, mining applications, digital mine technologies and the mine haulage and hoisting system.
