BIOGRAPHICAL OVERVIEW:
ZHOU Yu is an Associate Professor of department of resources and mining engineering at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), China. He received his BSc of civil engineering in 2008 and PhD of geotechnical engineering in 2014 from USTB, respectively. During pursuing Ph.D. degree, he went to study in engineering mechanics at the University of Kansas in USA as a visiting scholar from 2011 to 2012. After obtaining his Ph.D. degree, he spent two years as a postdoc at USTB, working on mining engineering. In July 2017, he began to work as an associate professor at the department of resources and mining engineering in USTB. His current research interests include rock mechanics, geotechnical hazard treatment and engineering numerical simulation (using PFC and FLAC software).
