SUMMARY:
Dr. Khan has an extensive experience in the application of geophysical techniques for understanding subsurface geology both at shallow and deeper earth. His research is mainly two folds (1) combined geophysics and rock mechanics workflows for underground engineering feasibility studies including tunnels, coalmines, infrastructure to predict geo-failures, deformation mechanism, fracture networks, geological faults etc. and underground water hydrogeological potential (2) advance geophysical and geological interpretation methods to understand complex geological processes, subsurface structures, sequence stratigraphy, basin analysis, tectonics, and hydrocarbon reservoir characterization. He has published numerous publications in high-ranking international journals. Dr. Khan is leading several research projects as the PI including National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Beijing Natural Science Foundation (BJNSF), Ministry of Science and Technology China (MOST). He is engaged in teaching, thesis supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and internationalization. He won number of renowned awards. He has also earned several academic titles and honors.
