The major of civil engineering cultivates senior engineering professionals who master the basic principles and knowledge of civil engineering discipline and can be engaged in planning, design, construction, management and research in the fields of housing construction, underground construction, roads, tunnels, bridge construction, hydropower station, port and offshore structures and facilities, water supply and drainage, foundation treatment, etc.
The major of civil engineering relies on the doctoral program of "civil engineering" and "Engineering Mechanics", the master program of "civil engineering", the master program of "construction and civil engineering" and the post doctoral mobile station of "Engineering Mechanics"; it has two key disciplines of Beijing, namely "geotechnical engineering" and "Engineering Mechanics".
