Since the establishment of the Mining Department of Beijing Iron and Steel Industry Institute in 1952, the School of Civil and Resource Engineering of Beijing University of Science and Technology has gone through more than 60 years. From generation to generation, the local people uphold the spirit of "hard and sincere", attach importance to educating people, inherit the spirit of " Being knowledgeable and practical". They are down-to-earth and courageous in their work and study and have trained a large number of outstanding scientific and technological talents in the fields of mining engineering, civil engineering, safety management and planning.
The school has distinctive discipline characteristics and abundant teachers. At present, it has 1 first-class discipline (Mining Engineering), 3 national key disciplines (Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Safety Science and Engineering), 2 national characteristic disciplines (Mining Engineering, Safety Engineering) and many other key characteristic disciplines; There are 46 professors, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, 1 member of the discipline evaluation group of the academic degree committee of the State Council, 2 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. The teachers of the school have undertaken more than 300 projects including the National Science and Technology Support Plan, the "973" Plan, the "863" Plan and the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the annual scientific research funds have reached about 100 million yuan for eight consecutive years.
In recent years, the school has responded to the call for the construction of the new era, actively integrated into the national economic construction, and achieved remarkable achievements in personnel training, discipline construction, innovation and development, and serving the society.
