1.Introduction

Overview

The subject of mechanics is one of the basic subjects of our school, and it is the foundation of the subject of mining engineering, energy engineering, civil engineering and safety and environment engineering of our school. It has played an important supporting role in the basic research of the State Key Laboratory. Now it has a postdoctoral mobile station in mechanics and a doctoral authorization point in first-level mechanics. At present, it has formed characteristics in three research directions: rock and soil mechanics, multiphase flow and seepage mechanics, rock dynamics and engineering blasting.

The laboratory of the Institute covers 3 doctoral programs in second-level disciplines, namely fluid mechanics, engineering mechanics (Beijing Key Discipline), mining engineering (National Key Discipline); possesses advanced performance MTS rock mechanics experimental machine, electro-hydraulic servo rock three Shaft testing machine, EH-4 earth continuous conductivity imaging system, multi-scale multiphase flow dynamics experimental system, complex medium microscopic dynamics experimental system, multi-field coupling test and simulation system, high-temperature and high-pressure multi-media flow system, laboratory The existing building area is 1200m2.

As of September 30, 2016, the total value of laboratory equipment was 23.56 million yuan, and the total number of equipment reached 186 sets, including 19 sets of large-scale equipment which are more than 500,000 yuan.

Research Activities

Based on the research of mechanical theory and the frontier and development of the subject, the laboratory has formed three research directions: rock and soil mechanics, multiphase flow and seepage mechanics, rock dynamics and engineering blasting. In 2014, the Institute undertook more than 100 various scientific research projects including the 973 Plan, 863 Plan, National Science and Technology Support Plan, and Natural Science Fund Key Projects, with a project funding of more than 23 million yuan; 15 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards, published more than 200 scientific papers, and authorized more than 20 invention patents.

Academic Activities

The laboratory has carried out extensive academic exchange activities with domestic and foreign counterparts, which has increased the laboratory's influence at home and abroad. In 2014 alone, the laboratory has received more than 10 academic groups that have come to visit and conduct technical exchanges; organized 5 domestic and international academic conferences and participated in more than 20 international academic conferences.
