The laboratory relies on the two national key disciplines "Mining Engineering" and "Safety Science and Engineering", closely focusing on the major strategic needs of the development and utilization of national metal mineral resources, aiming at the forefront of the mining and safety engineering disciplines, and adopting modern high-tech to transform traditional mining The theme of industry is to solve the outstanding problems that affect the safe and efficient mining of mines, and comprehensively launch basic scientific innovation and application research on mining.

The main advantages of the laboratory include:

(1) It has a scientific research team with excellent quality in the field of mining and safety engineering. At present, the laboratory has 70 scientific researchers, including 41 professors and 16 associate professors. Outstanding talents include: 1 academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, 2 winners of national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 winner of national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 8 winners of new century excellent talents support program of Ministry of education, 2 winners of China Youth Science and technology award, 4 national candidates for one million talents project, and national level One famous teacher, two famous teachers of Beijing higher education, and one innovation team of the Ministry of education.

At the same time, the existing building area of the laboratory is 6400m^2.

Through the construction in the past five years, it has formed its unique advantages in the aspects of rock mechanics, green and efficient mining of metal mineral resources, digital mine and intelligent mining, new theories, new methods and new technologies for mine disaster prevention and control. In the field of basic science and major key technologies in the field of mine and safety engineering, a series of major breakthroughs have been made in various research directions, including mine rock Rock mechanics theory, paste filling mining method and other key theories and technologies have entered the international leading ranks.

Research direction 1:

Deep rock mechanics and engineering. This direction has won one second prize of national science and technology progress, 24 provincial and ministerial awards, published four monographs, published more than 120 SCI / EI papers, created significant economic and social benefits, and had an important impact at home and abroad. As an important reference material of rock mechanics, rock mechanics and engineering has been widely used in mining colleges and universities at home and abroad, and has won the second prize of national teaching achievement and excellent textbook of higher education in Beijing.

Research direction 2:

The theory and technology of green and efficient mining in metal mines. This direction has won 2 second prizes of national science and technology progress, 25 provincial and ministerial awards, 45 authorized invention patents, more than 100 SCI / EI papers and 2 academic monographs. The results are widely used in domestic metal mines, which provide strong theoretical and technical support for safe, green and efficient mining of metal mines, and promote the development of green mining. At the same time, it has been successfully applied in Chambishi Copper Mine and other foreign mines in Zambia, which has promoted the green and efficient mining technology of China's metal mines to the world stage.

Research direction 3:

Theory and technology of digital mine. This direction has won 1 second prize of national science and technology progress, 18 provincial and ministerial awards, 8 software copyrights, published more than 100 SCI / EI papers, published 1 planning textbook, and widely applied research results in metal mines, comprehensively promoting the process of digitalization and intelligence of China's metal mines.

Research direction 4:

Theory and technology of mine disaster prevention and control. It has won 1 second prize of national science and technology award, 35 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, 1 national standard, 18 authorized invention patents, more than 100 SCI / EI papers and 8 monographs. The achievements have been applied in more than 100 mines in China, greatly promoting the progress of deep well mining technology, and achieving remarkable economic and social benefits.

Research direction 5:

Mine ventilation, dust prevention and risk avoidance technology. He has won one second prize of national science and technology progress award, 18 provincial and ministerial awards, published one monograph and more than 90 SCI / EI papers. At the same time, it provides the core data support for the formulation of specifications and standards such as "No. 23 order" of the State Council and "Interim Provisions on the construction and management of coal mine underground emergency avoidance system", and promotes the comprehensive promotion of the "six systems" of safety avoidance in China's mines.

The laboratory has long focused on school-enterprise cooperation, combined with the effective implementation of various scientific and technological projects, which provides theoretical guidance and new technical support for the safe and efficient development and utilization of mineral resources in China, and has carried out a large number of technical training and consulting services. It has promoted 53 scientific and technological achievements, achieved more than 6 billion yuan of economic benefits and a wide range of social and ecological benefits, and strongly supported the sustainable development of national and local economy and the technological progress and industrial upgrading of related industries.
